Ravi Shankar is a PhD student in the Petit Materials Group at the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London. His research, which started in 2016, is centered around developing a facile, high-yield synthesis method for 3-D boron nitride (BN) nanostructures, and subsequently investigating their potential utilisation in environmental remediation applications. Ravi graduated with a First Class Honours (MEng) degree in Chemical Engineering with a Year Abroad from the same department in 2016, ranking 3rd in his final year of his studies. His research work that he conducted in the Wessling Research Group at RWTH Aachen University during his year abroad was published in Chemie Ingenieur Technik in 2016.
