Hi, I am Karishma, an early-career agricultural biotechnologist. I am passionate about developing new innovations with impact to create change. My research has been shaped by my drive for utilising the opportunities offered by nanotechnology to deliver outcomes that enhance agricultural productivity. My PhD was a multi-disciplinary project, which for the first time established the use of silica nanomaterials as carriers and self-adjuvants for animal vaccine. At Mitter lab, Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation, University of Queensland, I am further exploring the proprietary 'Clay' platform for two diverse targets, ‘fire-ants’ and ‘sheep blowfly’. With strong industry support for the respective projects, I will deliver a much-needed non-GM, clean-green sustainable solutions to control these invasive pests.
