Freddie Mbuba PhD
I am an information system (IS) researcher and an IT practitioner with over 20 years’ experience. I hold a doctorate in IS from the Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand. As IS researcher, my research generally focuses on IS and Organisations, IS and Education, and IT Management. I take an interdisciplinary view in applying qualitative and quantitative approaches to study the following research focus areas: • ICT in organisations (Cloud computing —esp. SaaS, impact assessment); • ICT in higher education (Library platform services, e-learning, m-learning); • IS implementations (Design, System development life cycle, Implementation and use of IS); • Societal implementation of IS (human-technology interactions, sociomateriality, sociotechnical, Internet of Things (IoT), Big data, Artificial intelligence (AI)). My research domain that I investigate includes IS organisations, higher institutions, Communities and Organisations. Moreover, I am committed to research in suitable topics in one of the following areas: Technology and disruption in education, societal implications of IoT, AI, and Critical thinking. As an IT practitioner, I have extensive practical experience in system design, implementation, management and support in an enterprise environment.
