Based on the paleo-record, are we locked in for 6degC future warming & 45m sea-level rise?

According to a newspaper article, todays carbon dioxide level has increased to 400ppm from burning of coal, oil & gas. But last time it was this high was 15million years ago, with temperatures up to 6degC warmer and sea-levels 45m higher? If so, are we locked in to this type of future climate? Why isn't the climate warming today like what it was in the past? Thanks.
